SOCO is aimed at proactively preventing the spread of conflict from the Sahel, reduce vulnerability to climate change, and strengthen local institutions, economic opportunities, and public trust.
On the 13th September 2024 the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Decentralization (MLGRD) advertised projects on various public newspapers for contractors to tender their bids. Contractors were notified in the advertisement to submit their tender documents on the 3rd August 2024.
Bolgatanga East tender committee started the process with the opening and sorting of bid documents in the full glare of bidders. Each project was read according to the number of bidders competing for that project lot. The committee focused their attention on some key requirements such as the bid figure, bid security, and discount offered during the review of the documents.
In all, over 15 bidders competed for all projects listed as follows:
- Spot improvement of Yarigabisi to Timber market road (1.0km)
- Construction and Furnishing of an ICT Center at Zonno Completion of 1no. Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPs) compound and Furnishing at Dubila
- Rehabilitation of 6-Unit Classroom Block at Gambibgo
- Construction of 3-Unit Classroom Block with Double veranda, Office & store, Staff Common room and furnishing at Kantia
- Supply of 200nr Low tenion Electricity Poles and 120nr Solar streetlights
- Construction of 1no. Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPs) compound with nurses accommodation and furnishing at Pologo
- Construction of lorry park, including gravelling, 6no. Sheds, 10- seater water closet toilet facility with mechanized water system at Adakora
- Drilling, Construction and installation of 5nr Boreholes with hand pumps and Mechanization of 2nr Boreholes at Pologo and new lorry station
