The District Chief Executive (DCE) in the company of the District Coordinating Director (DCD), District Education Director (DED), some departmental Heads and Assembly Members visited two basic schools, Zuarungu primary/Kindergarten and Dulugu primary/Kindergarten respectively in the Bolgatanga East District on the occasion of ‘My First Day at School’ on Tuesday, 10th September 2024.
‘My First Day at School’ is a government initiative which is carried out every year nationwide by government officials to visit basic schools and welcome newly enrolled school pupils to school.
The DCE, Hon. Albert Agana in an interaction with the newly enrolled pupils encouraged them to value education as the perfect foundation to achieving their dreams and aspirations in life.
The DCE was greatly impressed with the attendance of both pupils and teachers of the two schools visited.
The Assembly donated items such as pencils, exercise books, soft drinks and biscuits for distribution to the pupils to make them feel welcome in their new environment.
