The Bolgatanga East District Assembly (BEDA) have handed over two tricycle ambulances donated by the Northern Development Authority (NDA) to the Bolgatanga East District Health Directorate (BEDHD) to be distributed to health facilities in the District.
In a brief handing over ceremony, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. David Amoah thanked the NDA for the donation of the two tricycle ambulances and that the donation of these essential vehicles will help to improve health care delivery in the District.

The Hon. DCE added that the tricycle ambulances would help reduce the travelling time of patients particularly on referrals from health centers to the District Health Center/Regional Hospital. He further stated that the BEHD should do due diligence by assigning the tricycle ambulances to the health facilities where their services are needed the most and that the DHD should ensure the ambulance get scheduled maintenances regularly.
Mr. Alhassan Lawal, the director of health for BED, expressed his outfit’s appreciation for the donation and promised that the ambulances would be assigned to health facilities that need them the most to improve health delivery. He stated that the DHD would ensure that facilities that would benefit from this generosity, take good care of the ambulances.
