President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as part of his two-day working visit to the Upper East Region has commissioned the Bolgatanga East District Assembly block constructed to serve as the administration block for the Bolgatanga East District.
Construction of the 23 office space facility commenced in November 2018, following the separation of the district from Bolgatanga Municipal in March 2018 with its’ district capital at Zuarungu.
The project which was funded by the District Assembly Common Fund has been completed and the president on 21st June, 2021 has unveiled the plaque symbolizing the commissioning of the project for official used.
The president, charged the caretaker District Chief Executive and District Coordinating Director to put up their best and maintain the integrity of the edifice.
The president, who is on a two-day working visit to the Upper East Region to inspect going works in the region.
He paid a courtesy call, on the paramount chief of the Kusaug Traditional area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II.
Zug-Raan, has pleaded with the president to consider improving the Community Day Senior High School in the Bawku Municipal to a Boarding Senior High school to help curb teenage pregnancy in his traditional area and promote quality education.
Naba Asigri Abugrago, further urged the president through the minister of education to make the Kusaal language an examinable language in the Basic and Senior High Schools since the language is taught at the Basic level.
The Minister of Interior, Ambrose Derry, Minister of Defense Dominic Nitiwul, former Minister of Aviation Joseph Kofi Adda, Deputy minister-designate for Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for the Binduri constituency Abdulai Abanga, former Deputy Minister Justice and Attorney General Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, Rockson Ayine Bukari, Minister at the presidency among other government appointees were among the president’s entourage who visited the Upper East Region.
